The Western Digital WD5000BPKX was purchased as an extension to an old Qosmio laptop and has not for a regular hard drive met their service reliably.

-moderate heat generation,
-cheap price,

Cons:
-As always reduced space by selecting the formatting (it is really about time for a leveling of the space specified by the manufacturer).

Conclusion:
For the price, the Western Digital WD5000BPKX is a reasonable choice for the system extension of older devices, based on my experience with a vast number of similar Western Digital hard drives will probably perform their duties reliably many years.
