The spoon is by its metal core on the one hand stable, through the soft silicone layer on the other hand super flexible. I use it in baking (for mixing dough or folding in of egg whites,) but also for cooking. Especially when cooking me shape and material have convinced the pan contents can stir great, the coating of the pan remains intact and the spoon is usually nothing sticking. Compared with the wooden spoon from the same product line (is m. E. bit heavier in the hand and "slides" not so easy in the pot back and forth) I would recommend this spoon for cooking on and order again. Cleaning is also no problem, either rinse briefly or put it in the dishwasher. In my opinion, this spoon is a great kitchen gadget at an affordable price.
