The Philips Home Cooker, which has moved 1.5 weeks ago in my kitchen, was co-developed by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and can cook, fry, steaming, defrosting, keeping warm, stir, slice, grate and slice. It consists of two separate units: a cooking unit and a cutting tower.

Everything was wonderful and securely packed in a sturdy box.

The cutting tower can cut vegetables, fruit, meat and cheese in slices, grate, grind or cut à la julienne.
A total of five different blades are included, which can be fixed by clicking on the disc holder easily.
The cutting Tower may be placed exactly on the cooking pot, the cooking unit with its rounded shape, so that fall crushed food directly into the pot and does not have to be decanted. Sorry, no device is provided to the cutting discs safely stowed on or in the cutting tower.

The cooking unit
The practical to the cooking unit with its 3 liter stainless steel pot and integrated agitator is that you can select a certain temperature (40 to 250 ° C) and at the same time a certain amount of time (0 to 99 minutes) by pressing a button. The structure of the cooking unit and the cutting tower was pretty easy because I did not take much looking at the manual and read. Even the keypad of the cooking unit is intuitive to use and at the cutting tower there is only one rotary switch with two speeds.
When cutting tower you need to have no fear of injury, it works only when everything is configured properly. Should be handled cautiously, however you when inserting the cutting blades as they are very sharp. I have long been quite a respect for these disks since I once angry, cut me a cutting disc from my old kitchen appliance during drying.
The materials consist of the cooking unit and cutting tower, make a good solid feel and also look out properly chic. In my kitchen, the duo makes definitely good :)
The pasta and rice and use the two steaming trays are made of plastic, they are from the inside very smooth and can be characterized very well cleaned. Since the stainless steel saucepan is there are no problems with the cleaning and maintenance. All parts, except for the electrical units may be given in the dishwasher.
Before first use, all the parts that come into contact with food should first be rinsed. After that I did the first attempt daring and water heated to look at how the control panel works.
The heating plate, the cooking unit has something strictly smelled during heating at the beginning, but the smell is gone quickly. The device works surprisingly quiet, I find again, great, loud equipment I have in my kitchen already enough. In the middle of the book there is a Quick Start Guide from images that good play and explain the assembly, operation and maintenance of the cooking unit and the cutting tower. This imaging like it better than in the operating instructions, because this was taken beautifully compact together and is easy to understand.
By Philips I would like to see included with these individually panel on the package.
On the Philips-site, you can register its Home Cooker and then receives a new prescription for the Home Cooker additional 15 months on a monthly basis.
Because the recipes in the accompanying cookbook are not for everyone find more recipes on the Internet.

In the recipe book can be found Sorry, no general quantity and times for steam cooking, except for the respective recipes. So I looked around on the Philips site and then found after some searching a food steaming for the Home Cooker ---

I've tried so far different dishes in Home Cooker:
Goulash with sauerkraut, rice, pasta with turkey and mushroom cream sauce, stuffed peppers with tomato, potato and kohlrabi stew with minced meat, sponge cakes in glass, Bolognese sauce, scrambled eggs with steamed vegetables, risotto, TK-beans

The recipes and lots of pictures to prepare the Home Cooker can be found on my blog, the address is stored in my profile. There I also uploaded videos that capture to conjure up a scrambled egg in Home Cooker my first attempts, and show the cutting tower in use.

After the first 1.5 weeks, I can say that the Home Cooker is an asset to my kitchen. He keeps on the whole what was promised me, saying that he cook, cooking, steaming, stewing, rasps, can cut the food constantly stirred if necessary, keep them warm and when properly adjusted can burn anything.
A small minus for me is that you can not cook noodles for example, at the same time and prepare a sauce that goes only in succession. It is beautiful but that you can lift the pasta with the pasta / rice used at the end of the cooking time from the pan and keep warm later can make the stainless steel pot above, wherein the sauce cooks.
The heat-up time of larger amounts of water to, for example, noodles in Home Cooker to cook is very long. And I had very filled on my first try warm water into the pot, set to 250 degrees and then had almost 15 min. Wait until first small bubbles at the base of the pan showed. The person takes just too long. Then put the pasta / rice with good use 350-400g noodles and salt into the pot to 175 degrees to all welled up again and then to 130 degrees. The noodles needed so longer than directed on the package. For the preparation of sauces Home Cooker is really great and also the keeping warm in the steam basket worked great, no question. But cooking larger quantities noodles I consider much too time-consuming, since I am much faster with my induction hob.

Why I'm still so excited?
For me, the Home Cooker is a successful attachment, which really helps me everyday. Alone the stirring function when cooking soups, stews, risottos, stews, Party pots, rice and vegetable dishes and much more for me is just great. Adjust ingredients pure, temperature and time, start agitator, lid on it and I can devote myself to other things, whether the household, a book, a cup of coffee, a trip to the Internet, a telephone conversation with my girlfriend
We cook super happy to visit, which is more than ever bothers to run because the pot and stir so that nothing attaches, as I would prefer sitting with a glass of wine here and Bosh to all there is and it's time to eat
During the week my family of 5 coming to the most diverse times back home because I'm happy if everyone can serve from the pot itself and the court still has a nice consistency and temperature. Of course, not for hours, but for a reasonable period of time in any case.

The cutting tower I personally would now really need it, but me has tricked again to hide more vegetables in my sauces, which my son mäkeliger would otherwise proscribed. To cut large amounts of vegetables and fruits, he is really just fine and can be cleaned in no time, either in a dishwasher or I let the parts after rinsing easy on a Spülmatte so dry again. You have to make maintenance easy.

Steamed vegetables tasted my family for a long time a lot better than boiled in water that I have ever done on the stove in a pot with a strainer. Is prepared in the Home Cooker depending on which court I can do the same in the Home Cooker now. Steamed potatoes do not eat my friends so happy because they simply lack the salt during cooking, which then also such a great sauce can not make up. But I can live with, pasta and potatoes cooking on the stove and just continue to keep them in the steamer then warm, then fit again for me.

If I yet further evidence come to home Cooker, I will add this one definitely.

Addendum 1 month in use:
I made friends pretty quickly with the Home Cooker and the cutting tower and me just embarked on his style of cooking. During the last few weeks I have for my family (5 persons) cooked many great dishes. After recipe I cook seldom usually, give the food prefer a personal touch, as I consider the tastes of my family. My way of cooking was supported by Home Cooker and cutting tower, he stood by me with a lot to help. It worked not all at once, but if you get the hang of once then cooking with the Home Cooker is a self-perpetuating. By cutting tower, I am also very coped well, the discs could be change and the cutting-result, as you could see in my pictures, also great, because I can not complain really easily. The keep-warm function has given me so many times, the serenity that would have otherwise lost me when my friends later came again to eat
