I was under the big test action at Lecker Scouts selected 5031 to examine Krups Prep & Cook HP through its paces.

I was pleasantly surprised about the size, I had in fact concern that the device takes away too much space. I admit I do not always read the manual and it therefore failed even every meal perfect. The Krups Prep & Cook has several automatic programs:
Sauces

Cooking (3 programs) stewed dishes (P1), stews (P2), risotto and similar preparations (P3).
Steam cooking
Dough (3 channels) bread (P1), yeast dough (P2) and sponge (P3). If P1 and P2 there is the function let you go to the dough.
Dessert for cream desserts (chocolate, lemon cream, etc.), for example pudding or panna cotta

It also has a manual mode. Here you can adjust speed, temperature and time according to personal needs. Then there's the pulse button (here the machine works at intervals) and the Turbo button, where it runs at full speed (step 12), as long as you hold down the button. With the start / stop button, you can start the program in progress and pause, press the button a long time, you ended the program prematurely and can then, for example, select another.

As soon as one tries to open the lid, the machine will stop, this is really perfect for your own safety and also for the children in the household. If you close the lid, you can run the program on the Start button on.
The lid has a fill hole, so you can, while the machine is running, even add ingredients. Otherwise, almost all operations of the lid is closed with the stopper, the steam regulation you can turn this on minimum to maximum.

I'll first time to the disadvantages that are noticed:

Cleaning is sometimes a bit annoying. It has (let water into the container, paper run purely and at 90 ° C for one minute, I use it like if I did, for example, chocolate ice cream or pudding, even with remaining pastry) while a cleaning function. Most then goes off well, but just on the blades and at the lower opening, where they are placed, like what settles. Since the knives are not allowed in the dishwasher, it must be washed by hand. Please only use the small included brush or use a washing-up brush, the knives are so damn hot, the risk of injury is great.

The container and the lid can in the dishwasher. For this purpose, the lid is broken down into 2 parts (so I am at the beginning done something awkward, now I can do it in your sleep) and the seal ring is removed, which must be cleaned by hand. (Between us, I've already done it at least 2x a mistake in the dishwasher, because am really a bowl - yet everything is close)
The container may also have almost completely in the dishwasher, only in the ground, an attachment bracket using the lower wing nut (is that right?) Are solved, which is very fast. Both are cleaned by hand, even here there are grooves and holes where gladly settle dough or other food particles, as also helps most the supplied brush. At the top holder is also a sealing ring which is removed for cleaning. One must not forget then to install it again.

The steamer could be larger. I have prepared as salmon therein, for 3 persons it is sufficient, in 4 there is already tight. I bought on the recommendation of an additional steaming attachment made of silicone of a foreign company. It is placed on the lid up until now I have only once made sausages in hot, while in the pot of pea soup cooked (which worked well). Quite firm and secure but does not sit on the use, so I can not give no recommendation, especially when children are in the household. I hope Krups is because even retrofit a good fit part!

Yes, what is not quite optimal?
Whip the cream is a game of patience. I do not know if I still lack the right gimmick, but between "still fluid" and "already Butter" are only a few seconds ;-) but I think I'm missing there is the experience. Butter can, however perfect and delicious buttermilk it provides the same time.

Cutting vegetables uniformly small, does not work particularly well. You really have to watch out for. Somehow that's understandable. The Krups Prep & Cook happens to have no extra-Schnitzel essay. The utility knife chops the vegetables and that has more of a cutting or a hash function. By the time I'll be there as well as safer, no matter never gets you the pieces, but for cutting onions and diced vegetables for soups or salads fast the Prep & Cook is often used.

The Prep & Cook can not fry. She has a cooking function with several stages, one of which is the Schmorfunktion, but again you can not expect that you can roast the meat or the diced onions. I was aware that, so I'm not disappointed about it. Cake and bread dough

Desserts
I have for example a cream from cottage cheese, cream and Raffaello served with raspberries, apple sauce and milk rice. Ice has made in a very short time, even pudding we cooked several times, quickly and easily with the best result.

Spreads, savory or sweet
When selecting wild garlic butter, bruschetta and Toffitella, especially if you make larger quantities for a party or as a gift, the Krups Prep & Cook is really very! other dishes, side dishes, sauces
Of course I also have other dishes cooked in the Krups Prep & Cook. Fricassee example is great, even curry chicken and chicken tikka masala (yes, we love chicken ;-) I perfectly manage it. The sauces are thick, the sauces program is really great, I'm looking forward to cook for my hollandaise sauce in Prep & Cook. The salmon, prepared in Garkörbchen was so tender and juicy, the there soon, also to the Transferred wild garlic I have prepared my magic Kesselchen. Yesterday was grilling the sausages were there with the world's best curry sauce, cooked in the Krups Prep & Cook! And cabbage cooking I now also own that was so damn tasty (although there again comes the downer, the crushing was not here so simple but I got the hang of it ;-)

My Conclusion:
I no longer give my Krups Prep & Cook ago. Some little things there would still improve, but overall I'm so happy with this food processor. It facilitates my work very much and it's fun, always to try something new.
The whole kitchen in a device that can not afford even the Krups Prep & Cook! I will continue to keep my blender and my hand mixer, my (actually I greatly beloved) Bosch Mum may move to my daughter), but that only because of the nonexistent place. Dispense I have now on my SoupMaker my Moulinette, another small SmoothieMaker and the chef of Tupper.
The stove does not replace me, I must continue to use the oven and stir-fries I do not want to miss.
