YES! at least after the first piece, which is not sprayed the full extent of what is possible, it is clear. The melody is very catchy and the piano conjures up along with the bass and the percussion a punchy soundscape that can once miss any guitars.
Since it is already with 'Pandemonium' on, which you already know from the EP and a very well-staged video clip. Here, give crashing beats with quiet passages the jack in hand and therefore become a perfect symbiosis.
For whom this is all rather small caliber who gets with 'Elekbö' speak the FMJ around the ears, which stimulates the muscles of the neck immediately, bring the head into the famous "Head Bang-position" and plan to lay off! Harter, voluminous rhythm shows a, where it's here and now leaves later than the initial thought of "missing guitars" completely slipping into the background, as against the copious amount of pianoforte it does not matter anyway! Nevertheless, also offers 'Elekbö' a melodic chorus, which invites you to sing along.
After so much power, it is now about time for the first ballad of the 'Ballads' n 'Bullets' - 'At Her Side' is the title of this beautiful ballad that has absolutely flashed me personally already at the pre-listening! A soulful melody, a walking under the skin and a voice in the Bridge it crashes right - all this can in any case arise pure goose bumps!
The invitation to form a circle pit and mosh like crazy when you want to 'Vortex' favorite offspring on site! After a gentle intro then comes the "rocket" for the eardrum - in this (already live) became called Fanhymne piece imagines the band goes full throttle. Resting is simply impossible here.
Even songs like 'The Healer' (EP) or 'Soul Apart' definitely belong to me in the genre of "Bullets" on this disc. Anyone who thinks that only guitars can be noisy and screaming, which must be easy times the brachial pounding rhythms that Bastian elicits the piano, work on you! This is a completely distinct, new and particularly innovative sound.
With 'Life is Up To You' Show In Legend another musical facet, which is clearly at the beginning of the piece. Not only the already mentioned instrumentation of the band is something special, but also the vocal power of Bastian Emig, the back is not afraid extremely high sounds (falsetto), but this (and live!) Dominated from the Eff Eff!
'Yue' is the only instrumental track on the Ballads 'n' Bullets and leaves a lot of space for mental cinema, because it is an incredibly soulful, almost classical sounding piano ballad that makes you think. While listening you realize immediately that the one who brought this piece of paper, processed a very personal background here. In any case, 'Yue' a sensational contrast to this album represents.
No plate without "Special Guest" have probably also the guys of In Legend thought as they have the song 'Stardust' was added. Inga Scharf, who as well as Bastian mixed in the band Van Canto exactly, did this song together with Basti a duet. A crescendo to get you started, changing and common voice and a melody that goes straight into your ear make this piece a highlight of Ballads 'n' Bullets. In parts this is an association of bands like "Nightwish", which is certainly in the melodious voice of Inga.
'A Hanging Matter' is the (seen from the musical ago) most challenging piece of In Legend's debut album. The beginning turns lively classically represents - even a violin is discreetly heard in the background - but from the very first verse of a huge pressure builds up, which runs also through the first chorus and the bridge. The following is a small "Klaviereskapade" which then ends in the original theme of the play. Rarely have I experienced it that a composition is so perfectly structured and accordingly come off!
With 'Prestinate' and 'Heya' follow again two energetic tracks that we already know from the EP.
Here are attractive because the interaction of the individual instruments and the singing of polynuclear Bastian Emig.
"Do not call it your dream, but make it your life!" it is in the play 'Heya' and could come to the conclusion that the guys of In Legend in the staging of their debut album have exactly this motto written and implemented on the flag!
Finally there will be 'Universe'. What initially silky smooth starts in singing and the piano accompaniment, is "fired" from the second line of the first chorus in one fell swoop and screened to a "ballad with bang". The permanent alternative program from soft, high-pitched voice and powerful rhythms that accompany then pithy and rough vocals, makes the piece more than a masterful finale for this album.
But true to the motto: "One goes ..." the guys of In Legend have even come up with something very special - the bonus track 'Me Against The Wall'.
This song they have already given to some live gigs for good and now the piece as a bonus track in the download version of the album on iTunes will draufgepackt up! That should not be missed, for here there musically full pound Dröhnung - fast, hard rhythms, powerful bass, a drum set that is maltreating until it stops and distinctive catchy vocals. This is sort of a "must-have"!
So I can only to anyone who likes a good, handmade rock music, advise you to get this album, because it's very multifaceted and orchestrated completely innovative and arranges! There by the soulful ballad up to the rock-hard Metal Piano everything the metallers heart beat faster. This sound is a release not soon, because it burns quickly in the ear canals and makes a permanent desire for more of it!
