We have a second home sheltered under a cliff, with walls of 1 meter thick in the North East of France. Both say that we have major problems in the fight against humidity. Until now we put moisture absorbers in different rooms, which we renew regularly. It is a bit tedious and ultimately quite expensive (we think spending over 100 per year in these refills). So finally we have taken the step and we tried to use a déshumidifacteur.
Good points:
- There is no recharge to buy, there is a reservoir of water to empty from time to time. So it is clearly more economical.
- He gets up to 2 liters of water is really much
- It is not bulky and aesthetically perfect
- The manual is clear and easy to use device
Neutral:
It consumes the equivalent of a 60W bulb. I admit, I do not have the skills to judge whether it is consumer or no energy.
The reluctance:
- The sound level is too high for a living (I do not know if it's the same problem for all devices of this type, it is the first time we used), it makes a noise like fan. Fortunately for us, our main problem is in the toilet, one room in the house without windows at the back of the house, on the ground floor, leaning against the cliff (and close to a piece called 'the cellar' where we store a lot of fresh products, ie the temperature that reigns in this corner ...). So the noise is not a constraint for us.
- We therefore use the second home ... where we disconnect electricity when we leave. So ... the appliance does not work in our absence.
In the end, did it work?
Yes! This morning (the day after the installation) there was water in the regenerator. When the indicator is green, everything is fine. If it turns orange is that the container is full.
