The power consumption ("Power Consumption") in standby mode is actually extremely low. I measured about half a day, the energy consumption in watt hours (a punctual measurement would have been very inaccurate), and from the power consumption in watts calculated (energy consumption divided by recording time) - it is a whopping 0.15 watts only. This means assuming a kWh price of 0.25 cents annual electricity costs of 1.3 cents - I have twice recalculated because I thought it was a miscalculation.
With such ridiculously low standby power costs it actually does not pay to use the physical switch on the back, but you can use good conscience the soft-off button on the front top left.

Yesterday was the (almost one months, "old"!) Machine immediately after power suddenly "fail to close", ie (the Eco Symbol and) the warning triangle illuminated permanently. So did (although that was not required, as this would be indicated by a different symbol combination!) Emptied the coffee grounds container and the overflow Unlock, the housing inside a tiny pile was coffee that could eigtl. Not be a problem. Error was still displayed. Brew Group had only cleaned last week. Soft off / did nothing.
As a last effort before I would have called the device as "defective" I have the device then "hard" off, ie via the switch on the back. Lo and behold, the error was gone after restarting.
So maybe just software error. Should not happen, but always comes back times before (we had recently also in our dishwasher).
Nevertheless, so far no reason to devalue the machine. But I will continue to monitor that.
