With the option "searchable PDF" a version of the Abby FineReader goes quickly once on the document, with reasonably good quality of the original PDFs are searchable and text can be using copy and paste extract, also the so-edited files are also smaller. Pictures and handwritten entries are inserted yet as a picture, the whole thing goes quite quickly.
When you first install the unit, a calibration is required, the included calibration sheet is used. One should pick up this sheet, because we had already once recalibrate because vertical stripes occurred.
Furthermore, a practical scan envelope is provided when a number of small parts need to be scanned, and it works well, I have, however, yet nowhere found such a scan envelope as a spare part, most likely you can go to "Faxhülle" search, in which case one side is not transparent but white is.
A big drawback for me, I must mention, however, has also led to the star deduction:
The device does not allow to give the final scan an arbitrary name. Hey, what's that? The concept is probably only times everything automatically scan and afterwards to look at the scans what that is and then to designate and classify accordingly. But I want so do not. After all, there is the possibility to confirm an automatically assigned name in the window that opens and rename this, but not without the scan program at least two figures clings behind. If the 99 scans obtained in this way, there is an error message and you have to manually reset the counter in the settings back to 0, or you can attach more than 2 points, then it will take longer to overflow. What also does not work: cancel the saving of the finished document for a scan, it will definitely create a file that you then best a name that can identify the product as waste.
I have nothing against the whole automation, but you should at least have the option to freely select the file name or not to save the scan only
