The 18x magnification brings on paper little more than the 15x. In practice, this increase is very interesting, especially when stars and planets you can benefit from it and, for example, one or two more satellites discovered at Jupiter or the Orion Nebula see a few more stars.
The legendary optical performance is of course possible by the absolutely perfect funktionnierende stabilization. It's really similar to a tripod use.
It makes short "click" and sätestens for 1-1.5 seconds, there is no muscle tremors or heartbeat more, the stars are no longer dancing wildly.
When enlarging an absolute must!
The stabilizer lenses are indecipherable also the only ones that allow remote writings. In other binoculars, no matter how expensive they are, put muscle tremors and a heartbeat limits. Since the sharpest optics is useless.
The price for this is a minor restriction of the visual field. For example it is not already easy to find the stars that you are looking, above all, because the sky looks quite different with a 8x42mm binoculars. There are no longer manageable many stars with large differences in brightness as seen with the naked eye but a veritable carpet and most of them quite bright.
These binoculars (15x and 18x, but already the 12x42) are very bulky and heavy. But on the other hand extremely convenient: One no longer needs to seek an adapter to adjust the tripod, everything screws etc. but to just pull the glass out of his pocket and off you go!
A support on the windowsill brings zusätlich anything else, though is not absolutely necessary, but clearly more comfortable and doubled the observation period.
Details of edge sharpness, color fringing, geometric distortions, accessories etc. You can read in my Rezenssion of 15x50. 10 minutes time you should already take this.
Although it is a few pages long, but there is much to tell about this extraordinary binoculars, and if you are going to invest a four-figure sum, then you should be well informed.
For price, I would say the following: A Premium binoculars by Zeiss, Leica or Swarovski is still clearly more expensive and does not bring much benefit within the meaning of detail recognition.
What bothers me a bit is the battery consumption. Even without regular use I have to go around. 3 months change the batteries. I forget, they are totally discharged and a costly regeneration program will be charged.
