From specification forth the N551JK was my first choice. Basically, it is also a very good device. Quick and quiet, the screen is very good. Excellent glare, still rich contrasts. The keyboard offers a very pleasant for me writing sensation and feels dibasic. Definitely better than my 3 year old MacBook Pro. A negative point on the keyboard that ASUS has saved the separate power button, and instead, the key assumes that was the 'end' key while Vormodell N550JK. Thus, the keyboard does have many keys, but not for 'end'. Unfavourable is also the silver keyboard along with the lighting. If the lights on, I can when it's light, the key label hardly recognize. Since the lighting should then be made. In the dark it helps. But degrees in dim light sometimes suits both incorrect. For other laptops with black buttons that fits better. But apart from the keyboard I have found in the short time no real weaknesses. However, ASUS was unable to send me a copy without any defect. The first had a loose fitting and rattling when using touchpad. In the second, the touchpad was stuck and nothing rattled. But I had two deep scratches in the aluminum part. The third was again the clattering touch pad. I had no desire for this model and instead ordered a Acer VN7. When local media market I had even the 17 '' - watched model. Also there sat the touchpad bomb Safe, but one reads in this model much of the touchpad problems. How many stars you are now such a device? A defect-free specimen certainly deserves 4-5 stars, depending interfere with the points raised on the keyboard as much. But ASUS seems to have a production problem here. UPDATE 6.3.15 Because Acer has VN7 problems with the touchpad, I wanted to again give the N551JK a Change. But that has unfortunately brought nothing to the contrary. This unit had both a thick scar on the aluminum lid, and again the clattering touch pad. Too bad a N551J without defects I would like taken, but ASUS manages apparently not to deliver me as a. UPDATE 03/21/15 At the end I have now but decided on a N551JK, but not ours here but the one with the 128GB SSD. In this one, the touchpad also rattles, but not as strong as in the other copies I had. And all alternatives have more defects for me. The otherwise excellent Acer 591g has a poorly responsive touchpad, which is not compatible with Lightroom. The previous model N550JK does have a much better, completely rattle free touchpad while also giving a better keyboard layout, but a ventilation system that even under low load is annoying loud. The N551JK at low load (browsing, email, Office) is virtually noiseless and cool. Had Asus equips the keyboard layout and touchpad of N550JK for N551JK, it would have been a pointed device. So for me it's not perfect, but better than the alternatives. UPDATE 26/03/15 From the sound I'm thrilled regularly. I've never had a notebook with such good sound. The N551JK sounds again significantly better than the N550JK, which always sounded a bit muffled. Even the subwoofer sound good fit to the system, the sound is the subwoofer very harmonious, never artificially dull or boomy. The Getausche the beginning was indeed annoying, but overall outweigh, in my view but the benefits clearly so that I increase my rating from 3 to 4. UPDATE 15.4.15 After two months of use, I must say that I am excited about this class notebook again. I'm really glad to have decided at the end of the N551JK. Alone, the display is just amazing good, perhaps the best notebook display that I have ever seen. Knackscharf, rich in contrast and due to the excellent Entspiegellung still very usable even in sunlight. Also in the evening while reading makes the display easy fun. Top display, sharp sound, super performance, quiet, cool, excellent keyboard. The keyboard layout do not really bother me, what I had initially feared. The only real annoyance is still the little chatter touchpad. But otherwise I'm super happy with the N551JK, I would definitely buy it again.
