Then I looked for a different way to my lawn scarifying and came across the system of Gardena. I have bought this lawn aerator together with the CS-ergoline Aluminium Handle () and find the combination very appropriate.
Together, I now instead of almost 100 euros for an electric scarifier about 35Euro paid for the lawn aerator and stem. Where can I use the handle so well with other essays. therefore the scarifier me alone has actually tasted Wenger. But even 35 euros, I think okay for something that I use only 1-2 times a year.
Deserves the aluminum handle of even 5 points has I reviewed separately. However, I found the combination of this aluminum stem and the grass fan almost perfect, the curvature of the handle at the end helped me a lot when scarifying why I have these stem preferred. I would have just only wished that the stem 150 or 180cm and would not only 130th
So I am come extra early from my work home to the lawn to scarify. First, I have the lawn mowed considered (the normal length) in hindsight and after what I have read then I would recommend the lawn but shorter to mow approximately 4cm.
After that was the scarifying turn. The system works very simply. You plug the attachment on the stem of his choice and screwed down the locking screw. After that nothing wobbles more and you can going to work.
Our soil is rock hard. So I started to push down and pull with all his strength, and even so I am just a few mm invaded the lawn. After I finally had ca 5qm finished I was so out of breath that I needed a break and was just in front but electrically to get an electric scarifier. I am so out set and rested and seized the opportunity to ask Google how deep you actually have to penetrate the scarifying in the earth. my idea for those were at least 3cm, I have indeed read the manual scarifying is really exhausting and you eternally long so needs. Even the first gardener page has taught me a lesson. There and at other sites was the one at the scarifying (which means vertical cutting means) no deeper than 5-10mm one may penetrate the soil since it destroys the roots of grasses and so actually the turf destroys (I would here like to the source indicated, however Amazon deletes this information).
I was relieved and I (as soon as I could breathe again) gone ahead. The remaining 45 square meters, I then first elongated then scarify sides only with 1 intermission. I have still a lot of pressure exerted downwards to the floor to scratch a bit but I have not tried to penetrate several centimeters into the ground (I hope to survive the first 5qm my harsh words) The remaining 45 square meters have lasted about 1 hour. I have the lawn first horizontally scarify away from the house and then vertically. In the 2nd pass then still some also come with addition.
It's amazing how much clover and yellow withered grass (?) I have taken out of the lawn. I have a large compost bin (which are in Germany and Austria in approximately the same size) filled to 60%. Healthy grass is little come along. I have while I have hewed the waste in the bin Extra seen what has been torn / cut of the lawn aerator. After scarifying I have my turf then worked closely inspected and saw immediately the difference from before. The lawn is now looking a lot healthier. I have only one bald spot discovered about 15 square centimeters in size, but at this point was previously only Klee to see so I suspect that there so why no grass was.
After scarifying, I then just found that I indeed get together a lot of waste and was halfway along pile it in a heap with the Lawn Rake but everywhere on lawns were still small grass waste heap. So I drove more quickly to the next Bauhaus, where I still bought the Gardena cs-Adjustable Rake to the broken-down rags to return together. By CS system I need to buy only the articles and have not required a further stem what my cellar is grateful!
After the sweep, I'm still gone off the lawn and have torn the clover roots. By scarifying this clover roots are simply stood vertically out of the ground, were a little longer than the cut grass and very easy to recognize. My lawn now looks back almost Clover free from!
All in all I am satisfied with the result 100%. I do not feel that the lawn aerator has been torn too much healthy grass. The work was exhausting for me (30 years clerk without regular fitness training) but it has been fun 1. 2. brought a good result and 3. it was once again sport for me! I give this Aerator full and convinced 5 of 5 points and hope to have helped you with this review.
