My choice of this "Tikka XP 2" can be explained by the promise of strong light (60 lumens, when many are around 20 lumens), and its retractable diffuser to choose either a directional spot lighting long scope or a diffused lighting (the coup, however, on a smaller distance).
And these promises are kept handily, and in fact more!
Most:
+ Lighting powerful, all the more useful because of the two lighting modes available: use without the diffuser ensures an insight into a very useful appreciable distance, especially as even in this mode the halo effects are still very content; the broadcaster when he makes disappear completely to any perception of halo for a homogeneous lighting super wide and comfortable, of course at the expense of reach, but 60 lumens allow precisely this mode to ensure lighting and frankly bad enough super nice!
+ Power save mode to optimize battery life when light is sufficient lighting (especially using nearby: Late reading, meet the night in a tent / caravan / boat without having to turn in large, etc. ... uses where again the comfort provided by the diffuser is incomparable!)
+ LED red for applications where preserving night vision is better (observation of the night sky, night navigation, ...)
+ Fashion flashes flashing usable or with white LEDs or red (well, I admit, no utility yet, but "that bit more ....." as we say, especially since we had real estate very incisive flashes -at least with LED white- and not just a basic flashing)
+ Really great selection of different modes of practice despite the single button: there it was really a big fear I had, in fact we all had lamps that wanted cheap multi-function, and where in the end we each new ignition referred to the following function, and we found ourselves to turn on / off / on / ... until finally find the desired mode of operation. Here no such thing. Already using differentiates into two major modes: white LED and red LED; going from one to the other by a long press on the switch, and once red LED mode, one keeps this active mode each new ignition process until you have a new LED failover a long press. Then when the LED lighting we will spend the following modes ("economic" for the white LED and flash light "for the two LEDs) by pressing again on the switch, but once one has not reconsolidated the button for several seconds, the mode is selected sustainably and pressing the switch will die when for other function than to turn off the lamp (instead of moving to the next possible mode). Well, I do not know if I'm clear: P, but certainly nothing to worry about, handling is just SUPER PRACTICE!
+ Low battery indicator; seem a little detail, but what is more annoying (and potentially dangerous!) than being plunged into darkness, away from everything, with a light that suddenly starts to falter! There is little check before going out we do not get to the end of the batteries and change them before you end up with a fait accompli when it is too late.
+ Good construction with: a wide headband, safe and comfortable; a single button, wide and easily accessible even with thick gloves; certified all time "IPX4."
The LESS:
- The price of 50 originally requested, which, despite the undeniable qualities of this front remains very dear to the final one (or two in loccurrence) LED in a plastic box attached to an elastic band, and accompanied by some electronic subtleties sum all basic to implement; the current price of ~ 35 is however a very good deal; and strength to note that the remaining competitors do not seem to offer anything better to 50 (must be said that the front more than 15, it eventually falls into a niche market, and prices are all higher result than that one might expect)
- And that's it;)
