Tape is gambling. There are differences between (brand) manufacturers and discounted merchandise and even differences in one and the same manufacturer, which offers at the same time quality and simple goods under the same brand name. Did they even get a good tear-off band, the Bnd next time may again turn out completely different (adhesion strength, tearability in the dispenser, tangle of tape, etc.). Not so with Scotch. So far, I always got the same product quality, not cheap, but well worth the price!
The tape has many advantages:
- On white paper practically invisible, even when copying
- The tape does not stick immediately superfirm. If you have missed you, you can pull it off again and re-stick. Only after some (short) time it sticks bombproof.
- Easy with felt tip pens and labeled.
- In Klebeabroller very easy to tear
- Very well suited for short-term fix, because no adhesive residue left after peeling!
- I've found so far, no aging or yellowing of the material, not even after years (but with clear adhesive tape)
The only downside: If the gate is not completely clean and straight, the tape tends to tear in up direction. But this only occurs when rolling by hand!
Professionally, I use the tape almost exclusively. As Optometrists so I glue from glasses, this can easily marking and labeling, and remove after work the tape without leaving adhesive residue again.
All in all I can only recommend this band or this "Sparset". While a single role in trade is comparatively expensive, this 8-piece set is a real bargain. 264 meters tape then goes sometimes for quite a while.
