Two albums Countrypolitan Lynn Anderson

Rose Garden - You'Re My Man (CD)

Customer Review

For ordinary philistines, Lynn Anderson is often reduced to 'Rose Garden', a signature-song that is found on all Sony Music compilations country scratched. The discs of this beautiful singer are few to have had the honors of a transfer to CD. One does not surprise that this twofer Columbia / Sony has privileged the album that harbored the eponymous tube 'Rose Garden' (1970) and, to accompany him, chose 'You're My Man' (1971). These two recordings, produced by Glenn SUTTON (the alter ego of Billy SHERRILL), are part of the Countrypolitan period of an artist who has over twenty years of career, left plethora of albums. With hindsight, Lynn Anderson is perhaps not the most bewitching of Countrypolitan singers of that time but it is in no way a second knife which was honored as one of the queens of the genre, for the most honorable institutions Nashville.

If we stood by two justices, 'Snowbird' (Gene MacLELLAN) and 'Help Me Make It Through the Night' (Kris KRISTOFFERSON), it would be to recognize that we are on this side of Anne MURRAY or Jody Miller ('Snowbird') and even well below a Sammi Smith ("Help Me Make It Through The Night '). However, 'For The Good Times', 'Sunday Morning Coming Down "(twice more Kris KRISTOFFERSON),' Put Your Hand In The Hand '(another reprise signed Gene MacLELLAN) and" It's Only Make Believe' ( Conway TWITTY) or the 'Proud Mary' (John FOGERTY) prove that Lynn Anderson is a singer of the first magnitude.
