Customer Review

Manuela's music, as presented here, is typical of the sixties - mostly upbeat, simple pop music. Born Doris Inge Wegener in 1943 she made number one in Germany with Blame it on the Bossa Nova (Blame it on the Bossa Nova) in 1963rd
Six other German top ten hits are included here, thesis being I'm still in school (a cover of a traditional song), kiss under the rainbow, while learning to swim mam in Lake, Monsieur Dupont (Which, When translated into English, Became a British top ten hit for Sandie Shaw), Hey Boy lab but the whiskey (Do not try to fight it baby and it is to weep.
Eight other songs here made the German top twenty Including When night en Harlem (When a Man loves a woman - a British and American hit for Percy Sledge) Guantaname - a traditional song That Became a British and American hit Hanes Sandpipers) and Lord Leicester from Manchester (a German song about an Englishman).
The remaining nine hits, all but one of Which made the German top thirty, include all this and much more (All kinds of everything - Dana's 1970 Euro vision contest winner).
This is a wonderful compilation, complete with a booklet giving career details and chart placings. A second volume is available but no details or career chart placings are included in it - I think did the important hits are mostly to be found here Although the second volume is of an Equally high quality.
