But unfortunately you can not convince me, especially the image quality is still inferior to the HX20V this camera. While the camera takes pictures in 20.4 megapixels, but "real" resolution is closer to 8 to 10 megapixels. In the area from ISO 800 me this camera is more like a VGA webcam. The reason for this is the faint lens and the small sensor. Unfortunately, Sony can counteract this situation by means of software only limited and more bad than good.
In summary, I can only advise you of a purchase. 2 stars, there is only because of the 30x zoom, otherwise this camera is more window dressing.
If you have serious interest in the camera is previously to a local dealer and see for yourself. Here, you do not do the same mistake as I ordered and blind on the Internet.
But if you will tune to 20 megapixels value and want to snap a few pictures at dusk sometimes, then I would advise you rather to a system camera with the corresponding sensor and lens.
######## Update of June 2013 ########
After almost 2 weeks with the camera, I would like to announce my new experiences.
The movie mode was able to convince as its predecessor, but I put on these functions less value.
With me is the quality of photos at the center. Here I noticed the following in the last two weeks, which I explicitly want clues:
- Photos in low light conditions: indoor, dusk, night from ISO800 quality is abysmal -> enough for printing with 10x15 are grainy (photos a birthday party (indoor afternoon and evening) are partly useless (especially in backlight of windows)) - > I invite plus an image high
- Snapshots at the telephoto end -> focus is too slow and the image quality increases with the zoom from further
The camera is above situations not suitable!
Furthermore, the camera has no RAW mode (certainly for good reason) and the ausgelobte digital zoom (which is to create a nearly lossless magnification) brings about only a lousy quality.
