We always play very happy KUBB, but sometimes it takes the kids simply too long to finally cleared is the last "village" and above all they do not like to play alone (ie without adult) it. But still I do not want to throw woods to me and so I was looking for a match for outside which the kids (from 7-8 so without adult assistance) can play and which do not last forever. Found I have Mölkky (indeed sounds like a bed in the Swedish furniture store) but is a really nice wooden game. The rules are very simple and the kids have their fun. Alongside mental arithmetic is not learned, but is super! The game is somewhat reminiscent of billiards. First, all logs close together (formation in the description), but after the 1st toss and any other litter spread the woods in the garden / on the beach / in the park ........ The goal is to reach the first 50 points. However, this is not so easy. Taking just one timber, then you must add the written on the timber number, you throw more wood and then one must add "only" the number of the timber. Tricky is the fact that you have to reach the 50 points exactly, it exceeds the 50 to fall back to 25 and must catch up. We always have a blast mi Mölkky and the children usually play the 2nd round continued alone, because it is fun and a game usually takes only 15-20 minutes. The processing of the woods I find fine. It is untreated birch wood and gets hold its flaws and discoloration from. There are beautiful natural materials. Who wants no quirks or signs of wear, should consider not a toy made of untreated natural wood into consideration.
While our game is played much like to see it and still made shipshape. Very nice, I think the wooden box in which the complete range of accessories can be stowed. I have given away the game already 2 times and it was every time very good at.
