Powerbank: I have other Powerbanks of RavPower (this one and this one) so I never nutilise FileHub as the backup battery. Knowing the expertise of the brand in this matter I do not make me worry about the proper functioning of this aspect of the product. Simply connect the device to the USB port of the Hub to benefit of a current for charging the battery.
Wifi hot spot: the lead hub can be used as gateway to the Internet, after having set the information for your router. The interest? Minimal in my opinion it is sine qua sil: to connect to file-hub rather quau wifi network box, may be useful for guests that do not have to enter a possible extension to password to access the Internet. Anecdotally, though also that lon can be connected to the Internet and file hub in parallel is essential to it
The added value of this product thus lies elsewhere: make it accessible to all devices in the home (almost) the dune SD card content, micro SD, USB or dun dune USB external drive. Two solutions exist:
o Through The application provided by RavPower in interface that i found a little dated on Android and limited functionality
o As shared NAS network type on the address 10.10.10.254 IP and:
- Directly in windows explorer network
- As a samba share in Linux, with no configuration necessary
- From an application such as ES File Explorer
There you have access to all features of a network drive, with copy / paste, document streaming (photo, video, music).
This is great for quun content is accessible from all terminals, typically photos or music, which can be accessed from any computer, phone or tablet.
My only regret now, this is not successfully connect my TV or my BBox (which is not the most modern) directly on this hub, but I'll keep looking, I do not lose hope.
After a little digging, the device is really excellent. It's a little intimidating at first, because the possibilities seem to be too many, but everyone will find its usage without necessarily taking advantage of all the features.
Some caveats, however, my enthusiasm:
- The interface dedicated lappli, which is a little off putting and is cheap and dated, while the hardware seems robust and modern.
- The catastrophic translation of the instructions in French. This is incomprehensible to ordinary mortals, and if lon is not technical, can not extricate themselves.
In summary, a great product, adapted to new uses. Impeccable equipment, efforts to make the software part. A total rewrite of demploi SimPose in French fashion.
