Muhammad - Prophet Life: Spiritual and contemporary teachings

I was looking for a biography of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) to offer a close. The latter should not be too complicated (not to be written too scientifically) or too vague. I bought the biography written by Tariq Ramadan. Javais planned to read this book and as it is impossible that I can recommend a book I have not read, so cétait an opportunity to read it. In addition, a verification simposait due to differences of the author and sometimes very questionable statements of a point of view of Muslim lorthodoxie. But the purpose of this post is not to criticize the writer views his perception of the Islamic creed, but on his book about the life of the Seal of Prophets.

Jai felt some reservations since introduction. He writes: "We thus find the point here discussed in detail the historical facts, great achievements or famous wars () it did not seem interesting to linger over exhaustively. "
I thought: oh yes this is so that the "spiritual teachings"! Present a presentable Islam and do not linger on facts that could put the gene Muslims too anxious gaze of others. But after all this is his right and this book is intended for a wide audience. He will say he even want to find a balance between "academic rigor" and "narration nourished by reflections and meditations."

In fact, I have enjoyed reading the first chapter. It is very well written. Passages are especially beautiful. Some reflections of the author are relevant. So yes, eventually it wasnt necessary to linger too much on "facts." And overall, the life of the Prophet (SAWS) is well presented (its main source is the biography de Ibn Hisham). Where it quotes a text from the Prophetic Tradition notes at the same time the source of the latter.
There nonetheless (unfortunately) some inaccuracies and some passages miss nuances. Indeed, it will say for example at a party the Prophet (SAWS) asked what "their two singers are sent"! This is completely false and that nimporte reading the hadith of the episode in question does not laurait summary way! Dailleurs, he will love to repeat that the Prophet (SAWS) was keen on singing and poetry ...
But the book is still useful and easy to read (very accessible and affordable for hand editing). Useful to anyone who wants to know briefly the life of the last Messenger (SAWS) and some of his teachings capital. As for the great Muslim readers and Islamic science students, it is necessary to refer to conventional reading because this is of course insufficient. There dailleurs, and French, several editions references biographies. Said biography can complement and "recall".

I will end by quoting a passage that i particularly enjoyed in relation to Revelation:

"The Koran from originally, is as the mirror of the Universe. This was translated as "verse" by the first Western translators, referring to the biblical vocabulary in Arabic means literally "sign" (ayah). Thus the revealed Book, the written text, consists of signs (ayat) in the same way that the Universe, to the image of a text in front of us made, is abounding of these signs (ayat). When this is the lintelligence heart that reads the Koran and the world, and not only analytical intelligence, then the two books talk, echo, and each of the other two talking and Lunique. Signs remind the Sens ... born, live, feel, think and die. "(Page 82).
