But then the cloven hoof:
Lr5 not export photos as JPG - every attempt ends with an error message. Lr4 (I had wisely not uninstalled) here has no problems. Whether Lr5 fulfills its social networking export functions or not, I can not judge because I do not use them. I am working "old-fashioned conventional" with hard drives and files, not in virtual worlds. And what use my wonderfully managed and processed RAWs if I can not export them as JPG and make it usable?
Absolutely unacceptable is the almost unbelievable arrogant ignorance that Adobe brings to this known problem there, the problem is known, but is currently not resolved, where appropriate, to the next, but is currently still quite vague update. Can hope for the Adobe Support Individual give oneself.
Conclusion: In principle, good program, but in the 5.0 version, unfortunately unusable unless JPG should be created. Support and Customer Service: Absolute nil. Maybe you should beu Adobe once again something to focus on customer satisfaction rather than the consolidation of monopolies.
Therefore only one consolation-star.
SUPPLEMENTARY v 20/08/2013:. Export Problem solved!
In the Export Presets from Lr5 there the heading "After Export ...". The local setting is an empty field ("blank"). This is not a valid setting, for whatever reason. Anyone planning any action after the export, which should explicitly select there the entry "no action". Then the export and the Win32 API functions error 2 error message no longer appears.
Erstaundlich that Adobe pretending such nonsensical presets and even corrects these errors. As has been well-knitted with too hot needle. My Review I correct therefore now to 3 stars.
