For me, the best fantasy saga is Lyonesse (The Garden Suldrun + Green + Pearl Madouc) Jack Vance, I place even before The Lord of the Rings. The brevity of Jack Vance is greatly lacking in Robert Jordan and after reading all the volumes published in French, I often lose myself with all the secondary characters, especially among Aes Sedais (*). The length of the publication does not help either to understanding. That said, the wheel of time remains an excellent series and I promise to read everything, once everything will be translated and published, probably Kindle Version!
