The take-up lever must be at the start of sewing and sewing are in the highest position, not the needle, if one wants to avoid "lower thread salad" successfully and permanently. This is unfortunately wrong in the manual. Otherwise, the manual is sufficient detail imho.
Now for the "weaknesses" - Unless you can talk about it at all with such a cheap machine:
The Garnrollenhalterstifte are made of plastic instead of metal - as divorce probably the spirits. The endurance test wirds show.
The clutch has no mark for the highest position of the thread sensor - but to cope.
The foot pedal is really easy and is extremely cheap. The cable can be precisely bend, but the pedal easily slips it on smooth surfaces. Here I will on occasion rework times with weights and additional anti-slip rubber. But is in other brand manufacturers and cheap machines the same pedal (problem).
Extension table / accessory compartment and content:
Well, the other manufacturers also have slightly better solved with flap for accessory compartment. In addition, I do not understand why you have not at least settled a tiny vial Naehma oil and a small practical multifunction wrench with accessories. Other manufacturers can indeed.
So I had a separate drive for the building market Naehma oil. And halfway suitable screwdriver I have to dig even from my toolbox. Or my little practical ordered separately anywhere on the Internet.
On the pennies Thai production costs, it would now no longer arrived.
In the same line, the non-existent simple plastic cap suggests ... I've then halt even a sewn. ;-)
The volume of the machine varies depending on the stitch pattern. I do not mind. But there are probably quieter models on the market.
Can I buy in principle reassured. But there are also nearly identical models at similar prices with more accessories and a long warranty. The question is whether the not already come from the same manufacturer (Janome)?
