I am not suggesting that it is completely and will also not go into technical details, but the price / performance ratio is hard to better with IPS (!) Panel found, if at all.
I got it I ordered as cheap second monitor to my Nec 2490wuxi2 and as such it is an enormous stroke of luck. Viewed from the front, they look virtually identical, have almost exactly the same size and the HP is the Nec so similar that I could take him with the least effort to nearly identical color reproduction in color behavior.
I could view recently a large number of Dell monitors in similar rather to higher prices and all suffer from the tendency to more intense color casts. The HP, however, is surprisingly neutral in color at this price. (I have not the slightest against Dell, on the contrary - I own a Dell laptop and am very happy XPS17 so).
Overall, it is by about half cheaper than the Nec 2490wuxi2, but not bad by half.
Again - the HP ZR24w is not the perfect monitor, but for what you pay you get more than would be expected and as pure second monitor he is smooth luxury.
IPS panels for the price with a 16:10 resolution are extremely rare.
