Far from the same old four seasons, or no less wearisome concertos for mandolin for example, we are in the presence of rare scores. The choice is the highlighting of this rare instrument, the bassoon soloist. I recommend going directly listen to the first allegro movement of RV 461 in A minor (track 4). Immediately you will discover the many qualities of the recordings on this CD: it's not the most important of course, but still, sound pickup great. Then obviously on the bottom, perfect control of the entire Sonatori Giososa Marca. Stylistic and rhythmic choices in perfect harmony seems to me there with the intention of the score. And then, especially in the following movements, the appearance of the two soloists, Sergio Azzolini bassoon and Hans Peter Westermann to hautbois.L'allegro RV 545 is very successful, the delicate rise of RV 498 is beautiful with an exchange symbiotic between the orchestra and bassoon, especially in the first movement. For me, this set of six concertos for bassoon (Vivaldi wrote it is said that in 39) is a delicious choice and an absolute dive into the Venetian atmosphere. Over the notes and bassoon timbre prove sometimes obscure clear and sometimes disturbing mists of the city of the doges, or blazing sun that crushes everything, like the death that lurks in the novel by Thomas Mann (Largo RV 501 "La Notte"), sometimes beautiful soaring joyful and cheerful as a harlequin carnival or bubbles of an unlikely "spritz" (RV 451 Allegro beach 13). For nothing spoil this excellent CD is accompanied by a comprehensive booklet. Still a very nice surprise this collection Naïve.
