A All in all very good coffee, to which one must get used to, however.
The comparison is here my slightly older AEG Cafe Ole with thermos.
Important: :) really read before handling all operating instructions, otherwise go one like me:
Unwrapped, connected ... why is the display goes dark? ... After reading the manual, it was a bit clearer: One should the Power drücken..und behold: The display was blinking! Taken first hurdle, so set the time, and on it goes. The water tank is removable, which is not necessarily standard with other expensive machines. Where is the control? .. Integrated into the side wall of the water tank, so no annoying show or similar, very good! What then was however surprised me the speed of the water flow!
It went very fast, and loud advertising description optimal brewing supposed to be achieved through high brewing temperature and contact of water with the coffee. Because I certainly have my doubts. By comparison, my AEG-machine needed for the passage of 10 cups approximately 8 - 9 minutes that Siemens needs for the passage of 8 cups (More is not possible due to the size of the thermos) about 3 - 4 min !!
So far so good. The thermos flask is fully sealed according to the description did not surprise me very much, but can be explained because of the closure. Strangely only that you have to close the lid "by hand" by applying slight pressure again. Here's an "update" on the part of Siemens would be appropriate times. Also, the following cleaning is quirky because you have to pull out the cover out of the holder in order to rinse the jug properly. A rotary closure as AEG's there but considerably more useful. What is striking still: After cooking a pot of the machine must fully whopping 5 minutes (!!) to cool down before you can cook the next pot, since but a changed time management is applied by the user. Again, the comparison, the AEG is approximately 1 - 2 mins use again !! How does the "Aroma Sensor" I really can not affect review now that Siemens had only 1 day ago in operation. Irritating is the description of the display for "Full" can (more than 4 cups) and "Half"
Kanne (less than 4 cups): The light symbol is divided into two parts and surrounds the on / off switch, then the symbols light up in the respective direction of the symbols printed on half / full. Again, I wonder whether it would not have been easier for and more meaningful to illuminate even the icons, at a price of about 100 euros you can actually expect something but in my opinion.
Despite the above-mentioned many things but the real important: namely the coffee. And so far is actually very good, at least I can write about it after a day operation.
Again at a glance:
Positives:
- Good optics, space-saving design
- Built-in timer, quite easy to set up
- Faster throughput with high brewing temperature
- Thermos with good warm function
- Machine can be combined with ON / OFF switch into hibernation without display
- Thoughtful design of the water tank
Negatives:
- Complicated cleaning the thermos lid due to the system
- Strange operation of the lid as it should be pushed closed after pouring by hand
- Faster throughput of water: How should there can unfold the coffee aroma?
- Long cool down period after brewing: 5 minutes have definitely much too long!
- "Illuminated symbols": printed symbols, lighting decentralized illuminated in the direction lights
- Getting used to handling, guidance does not clarify all the questions
Conclusion: A high-priced coffee machine with timer and thermos which quickly boiled coffee, with low noise, a detachable water tank and an attractive design.
