The 700D and the 70D came into question for me, having the following advantages and disadvantages, in my view:
1. EOS 700D
a. Benefits
- High sensitivity
- Latest DIGIC5 processor
- 9 AF Kreizfeldsensoren
- Rotating and swiveling display
- Night Scene, HDR
- 18 Megapixel chip
- Good video support
- High image continuous shooting of 5 frames / s
- Lightweight body
- Good price
- Good workmanship
- Same procedure as with 1000D
b. Disadvantages
- Field of view of 95%
- AF still not optimal in video mode
2. EOS 70D
a. Benefits
- High sensitivity
- Latest DIGIC5 processor
- 19 AF Kreizfeldsensoren
- Rotating and swiveling display
- Night Scene, HDR
- 20 Megapixel chip
- Very good video support
- High image Continuous Shooting of 7 frames / s
- Wireless Support
- Field of vision 98%
- Very good workmanship
b. Disadvantages
- Heavy housing
- High price
- Other handling as the 1000D
My conclusion: The Canon 70D is indeed a dream camera without weaknesses. But the 700D is very close to it on the 70D and costs only half. The slightly better performance (more cross-type sensors, 20 megapixels, higher continuous shooting, better AF in video, wireless, larger field of view, improved processing) can be neglected, in my view. Remain important for me the same handling as for the 1000D and the lower weight (200 g) and the smaller body.
I can now make the first pictures with the 700D and am simply amazed. The improved brightness performance and the build quality are top. Also, the touch screen can be used sensibly in sharpness choice of an object. Incidentally, I do not have a "Dead pixels", as another review was found. Only the automatic autofocus can be heard when shooting video with my lenses. Here you should probably use an STM lens better. Otherwise, I can without "ifs and buts" recommend the camera.
