I bought the version 6 last year. Unfortunately, one day before the free update date. Parallels has made no exception for me too. Now I shall, one year later, again to buy a version just because I use Mountain Lion?

No way! I pay but no more than three times the price of the operating system for a software that I have purchased previous year only. Just to back a version to buy the next OS X.

I'm going to do in the future a wide berth Parallels. Companies with such customer-hostile business models ruled out for me.
