Pure is the spy novel by John Le Carré who ripped the category "spy novels"; far too restrictive for him. It is a great book, the dizzying romance deployment where the author - as always submitting reason and duty to execution of feeling - questions the father / son relationship and delivers first parts of his unpublished autobiography. The parallel world of "intelligence" is a world without pity and The Square is definitely its most subtle chronicler. Read drop everything.
