'Loud' is a fantastic album, which contains a lot of hits. There was the expectation for 'Talk That Talk' course rather screwed up.
In defense of Rihanna (and their management) I have to say that it is not 'funny' is completely and that almost every year a new album will be released and that it besides still collapsed with other artists. The artists have previously even made pretty often (Bob Dylan z. B. has brought out in the 60's three albums in one year and they are all just the blockbuster ..).
'Talk That Talk' is purely pretty good album. Unfortunately, that's all. It revolutionized anything, there is not to hear a new ('You Da One' would have on other albums of her may be, 'Roc Me Out' sounds like a rude boy, Part II, 'Farewell' also sounds like a 'The Last Song 'Part II, etc.).
'Birthday Cake' is a beautiful song, which is but too short! Furthermore also convinced me 'We All Want Love' not so much ... And 'cockiness' per se a well-made song, which was but then produces terrible ... Terrible!
So for me to 'Loud' is definitely a step backwards. Listen album yet up and down because it just entertains. ;-)
Playing tips:
You Da One
Where Have You Been (perhaps the best song would have to be produced but otherwise ...)
Talk That Talk (wengleich also nothing new here)
Drunk On Love (her vocal quality here is simply amazing!)
Roc Me Out
