So far, puttering a normal mechanical Samsung HDD with 500GB in my notebook. Particularly in the case of intensive and long service, I felt that the area around the hard drive was disturbing warm (palm rest). Also bothered me the slight hum of the hard drive, with the occasional "Klacker" at least were annoying.
Since I like to throw myself with the notebook on the bed and I generally not extremely squeamish Bypass with the device and getting warm and the sound of the drive myself increasingly disturbed, I was faced with the purchase of an SSD. So far, the price the offered capacity me was too high and too low for a transition for me was worth. Since this notebook only one hard drive can be installed and I (and so on music, movies, games) transported quite high volumes of data that came Cruicial m4 512GB or the equivalent Samsung SSD in question. After reading the reviews, test reports, various research and price comparisons, I then decided to use the Crucial M4, which has become truly affordable 380 EUR.
The SSD was delivered very quickly and I immediately installed the plate. Installing Windows 7 64bit was very quick and offered already a first impression of speed. After installing the operating system and a few other applications I realized how rapidly fast operation has become with this notebook. The system will now start in a few seconds and is then directly ready for use. Appliactions, Games and Other now opens without significant delays. The hard drive itself remains cold in the load operation. The silent operation I enjoy since the installation of the operating system. That's more power efficient the plate and each vibration are defying positive side effects that you appreciate just with a mobile device like a notebook.
The hard drive is now for 3 weeks in use and still works as the first day. The update to the new firmware also proceeded without problems. I have the update simply download and run. The next time the system firmware is installed automatically. With another reboot, the system will restart in normal operation. I do not know why other reviewers here had problems.
