Have the variant "12.7mm IDE drive connector -> SATA HDD interface" used and thus an 8 year old notebook (Samsung P35) extended by an SSD as a system disk (!). Works great, the computer boots now about twice as fast and on the fly everything reacts practically instant. The Schwuppdizitäts factor increases tremendously (tm by c't).
