To my Olympus E-520 I needed a wobble-free remote release, I also my hobby, astronomy, insets Camera. Wired I did not, as this is only an additional stumbling block in the dark. The trigger works well even with light and sunlight has sufficient transmission power. At the remote release would not hurt a bit more extensive instructions, even if there is enough in the camera instructions to do so. Therefore, and due to the battery in the timer (I do not) I forgive 4 of 5 stars and recommend it to others.
