I bought a few days ago in Amazon me this camera. My rating: I call myself as "ambitious amateur photographers". I shoot for about 40 years with analog SLR cameras (Nikon mainly). 5 years ago I switched to the Kyocera (Bridge) Finecam M410R to digital, then the Nikon Coolpix P80 came into play. From this camera, I was thrilled. At the COOLPIX P7000 all I can say; There is always another better !!! As is true in my opinion almost everything and is an SLR (amateur) in every way. In particular, I am of the simple and thoughtful menu navigation via the dials excited (you need not be time consuming to wade through the menus on the display). The individual assignment of Fn / Av / Tv buttons and the Quick Menu (dial) are just awesome. This too is to control the exposure compensation via a dial I find perfectly (just as before). In addition, Nikon dispensed with this camera on any superfluous Schnickschnak and the megapixel madness (10 megapixels in conjunction with the sensor size are optimal). Even with the 7.1 times optical Zomm I can live very well, because the image quality but very suffering in larger areas. The digital Zomm is unlike my Coolpix P80 absolutely useful. Even the built-in mini flash ranges, although you may not believe it, for normal illumination to 5,6,7 meters from. The optical viewfinder, although it is actually due to the very good displays not needed him very useful. These are only the most important advantages that I mention. The only thing I have to complain about it but quite -womit life is can- somewhat slow speed in the menu system and that the software click the wild back and forth, in the search for the correct settings, two times crashed. I can not say anything because I bought a camera and no video camera via the video functions.
Conclusion: Image quality .............. 5 stars Operability ........... 7 star Processing ............ 5 stars Design .................... 7 star
THANKS .................... NIKON
Whoever finds any other defects on the camera - they may like to keep!
