"Holding all the roses" ..... well, but expected better!

"Holding all the roses" is the fourth studio album from Atlanta quintet is little you tell me after 15 years of existence! And it's nothing to say that this record was awaited with some impatience from fans of the training that we consider (rightly or wrongly .....) as the new leader of southern rock, called to take the place left vacant by the end of the recent activity of the Allman Brothers Band. Well in my case I do not go that far!

I admit it took me several listens to begin enjoying this record because of these 12 tracks neither is bad but certainly nothing stands out, nothing stands out immediately! And then over the plays each piece can be discovered and we think that ultimately it is nevertheless gratifying really what we sway Charlie Starr and his band!
This is Brendan O'Brien who was entrusted with the production of this "Holding all the roses" which is the logical continuation of previous discs. The music of Blackberry Smoke is clever blend of rock and country, with of course the influence of seniors.
A little regret, the little space left to Brandon Still keyboards, B3 it lacks all! We have the right to some acoustic songs that feel like California seventies (Doobie Brothers?)

In summary, successful work, but I for my part would situate a hair below the previous "The Whippoorwill" and a tuft of hair below "Little Piece of Dixie" their second album released in 2009. They were not better since this little masterpiece.
