Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (video game)

Customer Review

That was my first Donkey Kong game I've ever played - it will not be the last.

The game is convincing in every area. The level design sprayed formally before creativity and although it takes up typical issues such as ice, lava, water etc. The main reason is that such love is to see to every detail. My personal highlight was in the fruit world, there is an enemy who falls into grape juice. When he comes out again dyed his hair purple, and the color is more intense the more often he falls into the juice - simply ingenious. In general, the enemy design was pretty cool. The "cattle Überkinger" are designed really great and you can even unlock this as a "trophy"! Did I say free play? That's right, you can unlock a lot in this game. Enemy characters, artwork, dioramas, Secret Worlds and even the soundtrack. So should be! Many developers offer something like this as paid DLC; here is set to the classic Unlocken - I love it!

The game is worth it alone for the soundtrack already. David Wise delivered a masterpiece here. The tracks go from light and cheerful to dramatic and gloomy. There was none of this I did not like and the soundtrack from world 2 - 1 now holds forth even when my cell phone ring tone. As written above, you can even unlock the soundtrack in the game, so I recommend it to anyone after playing through again a listen in peace!

The gameplay consists mainly of 2D platforming where you mainly Donkey Kong controls. Help to this Diddie, Dixie and Cranky Kong supply, all of which bring different skills with them. Here, however, is also one of the few criticisms that I have: The three are not very balanced, because Dixie is by far the most useful. But this is not so bad, because you can play the game by without them and therefore remains entirely up to which of the three you want to take with them. In addition to the three monkeys there is a item shop where you can buy auxiliary items. These, however, I can not say much, because I've never had to buy one.

To control I can only say: Extremely precise. There were no problems and no camera input delay. The control works in any level, including the rocket, swimming, Mienenwagen-, Rambi- and Standard Level. So does platforming fun. This game sets a benchmark, the other games should be replicated to.

The gamepad is integrated in any way, and was criticized by many. I think that's not so bad, as long as Off TV will support. The gamepad turns off the screen when you play on TV, so you save battery, which I personally important in the short term of the gamepad.

All in all the game is not only a buy recommendation, but a purchase obligation for each of a WiiU has (and people should have the no WiiU to buy one!) I say this as a gambler, who normally does not Platformer, for I am too bad in them. This game motivates but always keep playing. I have played at 99% Kompletion the game about 35 hours.
