It's a cross with the "Best of" collections: In regularity you miss it, just those songs that where you have a most well liked and a special relationship. So here, too, "Fakin 'It", "At the Zoo" and "Hazy Shade of Winter", all of which are among my personal favorite, unfortunately, shine through Abewesenheit. Otherwise, however, everything is represented what Simon and Garfunkel produced at large and small hits. But you should not forget that the two singers and musicians more justified by their LPs as by individual single hits her worldwide fame. And although the duet "only" five studio albums produced together, is behind an artistic development process over several years - from folk stressed purely acoustic intoned "Wednesday Morning 3 AM" (1964) to something cheesy, clothed partly with violin tones "Bridge of Troubled Water "(1970). This development, a "Best of" collection of course not reflect adequately. There is no shortcut to the musical environment (in 1964 was very different than in 1970), and it also lacks the presentation of evolutionary artistic process of a record to the next. But that's a fate any such collection, and therefore not really a criticism. Conclusion: A beautiful CD for people who Simon & Garfunkel first want a bit beschuppern or old (Youth) relive your memories. All others had recommended the original albums.
