The shaver is with accessories packed in a cardboard box which is easy to open. The razor itself is still turned bakes in a Plastikblister, but the can be opened easily without any risk of injury.
Additionally included is of course the cleaning station, a bottle of cleaning fluid, a material travel bag, a plastic protection for the shaving head, a cleaning brush, a charging unit, including power supply, illustrated instructions and warranty terms
Look and feel:
The shaver is high-quality, and thanks to the piano lacquer look very classy. He is really good in the hand and makes a stable impression. The charging cradle and the cleaning station are all similar in design and in the same color. The charging cradle to its underside suction cups for secure positioning. Razor and cleaning station have a display that only you see when the razor or the station have something to report. Otherwise it looks like there is no display. For me, this is the first criticism of the razor, because I really would have expected a display with remaining time display for the price and not a 3-stage bar graph. The numerical display is unfortunately only the more expensive variant for 349.- withheld.
Shaving:
The shaving results speak for themselves. As always, we must not expect miracles even in this shaver. As a pure dry shaver he shaved as well, maybe a little better, as my old model (Philips SmartTouch XL). But you have been exercising so that the result is a bit of pressure. In use with shaving gel shaving is much better in my case. From a shave in the shower, I personally nothing. I may as well not recognize advantages over a shave before the mirror, so I have not tried this variant. The integrated long-hair trimmer has been criticized here often as too narrow. I find, however, that it has exactly the right width, perfect for the sideburns (or even a mustache).
Clean:
Here you'll find me at the second point of criticism that I again see directly with my old SmartTouch XL. In this model, there was a built-collecting chamber for the whiskers and the entire head could be folded in one piece to the back so that you could then clean the chamber and the shaving heads under running water.
When SensoTouch 3D, there is no collection chamber so that one after 1-2 shaves the heads reclines individually needs to then rinse under water. But this is a point which you can get over and that was by design and can not be solved otherwise.
The cleaning station makes a very good impression. However, I have not yet found out how often the shaver should be cleaned at this. According to Philips holds a bottle of liquid for a month, with a bottle for 2 fillings ranges. So change every 2 weeks.
"Unfortunately," the shaver is always loaded when you use it in the station. This should have been better able to make, for example. to be loaded by a choice function of whether or not shaving. Because the battery is not completely empty not just good for the longevity of the battery, even if here if lithium-ion technology is used that. Probably it is enough to shaving to clean every 1-2 weeks in the station and otherwise under the tap. Thus a bottle of liquid holds then also probably 3 months. But have to try each and even comes probably also on the personal growth of beard.
Compared with Philips SmartTouch XL:
It clearly wins the SensoTouch 3D. There is the SensoTouch with numeric display does not count here the comparison. The only advantage of the pre-predecessor SmartTouch XL is the large collection chamber, and perhaps the battery that lasts about 20 minutes longer. In contrast, the SensoTouch shaves better and is to be used as a wet razor and shower.
As the owner of the SmartTouch XL I would not pay the current price of 249.-, but the differences are too small!
I can of shaving are testing free under a TRND.DE project and apply it later at a special price!
Conclusion:
A class razor I can only recommend. Only: If you have a high-quality immediate predecessor, for example. SmartTouch XL or Arcitec maybe you should try the shaver before and / or to think carefully about whether the price is worth a switch.
The price is in my opinion the biggest criticism on Shaver: 249.- I think is a bit excessive. 199.- it would have done.
Outrageous is also a surcharge of 100.- (ie 349.- final price) for the same shaver with numeric display. This would probably
also have been possible for a surcharge of 20.- or equal in 249.- version.
There are also clean the shaver in a 2D version, which its predecessor Arcitec comes the same, only that the 2D is also waterproof. If anything, most have direct access to the SensoTouch 3D ;-)
As it comes to a pure Produnktbewertung here do I hide the price times from giving the SensoTouch 3D 5 Stars!
