The new printer should support Wi-Fi that you can also print from the tablet or smartphone without transferring the file first, or image on the Mac.
First shock: the most "simple" printing have no more paper drawer. And if you want to print photos on photo paper, you have to remove the plain paper, and then einfuscheln the photo paper. This is stupid! And an additional manual paper import trade not there in most simple devices also.
A large workstation with automatic multi-page feeder and fax can be oversized for our needs. So we did not want a colossus.
After much "reading" and "View" we decided for the EPSON XP-615.
Installation simple and still went in a reasonable timeframe. There were no problems.
WiFi worked right away.
iPrint from Apple devices also goes without problems and without any additional installations.
Images and writing are totally colorfast and clear.
2 separate paper trays for photo paper and A4 (the additional slot for photo paper is tucked inside the printer. But the important thing is that one has the A4 paper really dustproof completely in the cartridge into the printer there.
Some have written to the recession that it would interfere with that you have to open the paper output manually and close manually after exiting again. That does not bother me at all personally. Printer switch on, off paper edition, print. When you're done, that nothing einstaubt, close flap again. Turn off the printer.
In standby mode, you can "wake up" the printer via WLAN. Works without any additional configuration. But I have the printer anyway 24/7 in operation. It's just about the menu configurable, how long the device is to remain active before it goes into sleep mode or turn off.
This printer meets all our expectations:
- The paper drawers for A4 and separately for photo paper in the printer there. Drawer for A4 easy to refill.
- WIFI
- Copier
- Scanner
- Very good quality when printing text and image (color-fast)
- Fast rescue after switching
Can give no judgment I ink usage.
Printing an optical disc also not yet tried. Is not important for us.
