The enclosed instructions explain very well the functions of the device, however, is missing here, unfortunately, a briefing on the functions of the app that you can download for free for Android and iOS itself and its part in my opinion to the full functionality of the device. The use of this app, whose name is not even mentioned in the manual, I had to take out the product description from Amazon: PLR measure & go. The service is only partly intuitive and I had to look for something, until I then found my readings in the app, which can be transmitted by Bluetooth to your smartphone. With the app you can create different projects, in my test case about a balcony project because I want to relocate here outdoor carpets. These can then create sketches, or embed an image of the object that you can then write on the area and length measurements obtained. If you get the hang of one, it's a good app, but I had to play around a long time and are looking for that was not so good. The verfertigten sketches can then z. B. also from within the app send a mail or just about take to the hardware store or in person show there, there to can then easily select the right material for the project
The device itself is easy to use: it has a button for Bluetooth connection, a button with which you can set the measurement reference point (measuring from the bottom or top of the unit), a button with which one determines whether it is a simple lengths -, an area or a cubic meter of measurement is to be, or a continuous measurement, the measured value will change automatically at change of position. Of course there is also an on-off switch and a button that lets you trigger the measurement. Further still minus and plus buttons, which make it possible to add or subtract values from each other. All features I tested and it works really perfectly. It is always the same: Basic settings, press shutter button once and the laser beam is activated. Now you look, the laser spot appears on the other side to the desired location, press shutter button again and the value will be displayed. Helps to achieve a straight alignment as possible on longer Meter Tubes, the device has however not. The measurement itself is practically read off immediately after pressing the release button. The device itself is small, very light, handy, robust and nice to look at.
Conclusion: In comparison with a measurement with an ordinary ruler is all in my opinion because it is a real quantum leap, but then also to many high price.
