No need to have read the previous stories of heroes to enjoy the book (even if there are many references to previous books to make people want to go buy them!). We travel, we run in Paris, we learn things about Freemasonry, we relive the history of the Templars. The parallel between the Past and the Present is good (even if it is sometimes difficult to navigate among all the characters). I enjoyed the final pages about historical figures discussed in the book; glossary of terms used Masonic; and explanations of the authors about some anachronisms. They justify the selected views and it gives more value to their work (in the case of "normal" version but I do not know if these explanations exist in version "pocket").
