-------------------------------------------------- -----------
I am writing this review after my now fourth complete game and about 30 hours of play time. First of all, be said: The game brings as all Civ games so far the familiar just one more turn, then I go to bed feeling with it, even if the introduction to the game is really no easier. Civ Beyond Earth is definitely not a bad game, it's just unfortunately an unfinished game with a few bugs and teething. Unfortunately, nowadays it is walk and add to throw the player a beta version for the full price. Stated somewhat exaggerated, but there could have been done a lot better from the start.
Even as an experienced Civ players, need custom one for a while, until you have all the game mechanics completely understood and seen through, and precisely at this point you realize: Hmmm the game but not so complex as I would have liked that. I want to produce no comparison to the old Alpha Centauri here, but the differences are simply too powerful. What definitely will be the loser in this game is the atmosphere. The Cinematic trailer at the beginning can be a first time, the jaw open, the rest of the game seems rather superficial.
I'm at this point to a few things that should be urgently repaired my opinion or things that just are somewhat displeased me:
- As mentioned above, the atmosphere in the game is missing. No short videos or beautiful pictures for a wonderful structure, the discussions with other leaders go one already the second time rather on the nerve and with a victory or a defeat will be fobbed off with a small pop-up window. In a losing one learns not even know why you lost !? A real shame!
- The AI of computer opponents and the automated units is almost insulting to any normal player. Explorers run uninhibited by Miasmafelder and are well durchgerillt after a few rounds and over if you are not comfortable rest 10 laps on a field and once Unpack the lunchbox. The enemies are completely opaque, confusing and unusable for intensive interactions. From the construction crews now I'm starting not to.
- The 8 sponsors but no more than that may differ in name and in color. Feels like it does not matter with which sponsor I play, it has no notable relevance in the game.
- The trade I'm sending a unit to another town or to a post to act. The unit returns a few laps later and is spontaneously suffer from memory loss, the Navi has thrown away and no longer knows what to do. It annoys unbelievable, about 10 units to say in each round, in which city you should push your butt now. Please have mercy!
- The waiting time when you have finished his round is also more than generous later in the game reaches it almost made to get a coffee.
The game has good ideas and makes for the most part a lot of joy BUT: As a class leader, the Civilization is now times, should such a thing does not happen and should not primarily be sold at a full price of 45. I hope for an early patch! Then of course, the rating is adjusted accordingly.
