I have the PS3 since now 3 days since my old 60GB version has given up the ghost
Advantages over the J-model:
- Light
- Less power consumption
Disadvantages:
- No Blueray via component cables more, only via HDMI
- Wireless light is missing (and HDD lamp under USB port hard to see if it is not on its side)
To Noise:
It is the quietest PS3 that I've ever seen. One hardly hears only from and upload to the drive, the fan but really, you're at the games or watch movies.
For fans talk:
The smaller fan is used as the CPU have u. GPU a lower power and thus produce less heat. Thus, the fan has to work less and at the same time smaller and quieter (unlike the reviewer before me, less than or equal Leiser with the same number of revolutions)
But from the discussions it can be seen that the volume depends on the model, so there are differences in the respective model series. (Thus may be louder than another PS3 the K model, a K-model.)
