The current Paint Shop Pro X7 Ultimate version - since 2005 owned by Corel - has become much more mature and can respect the range of functions nothing to be desired. Apart from the usual image editing functions such as cropping, red-eye correction, adjusting brightness and contrast, etc. The software also provides an editor for photos in RAW format and supports more than 300 camera models. The cameras used by me Nikon D7100 and Canon EOS M are included.
Paint Shop Pro X7 comes in the Ultimate version on two DVDs, with the actual image editing program on the first and the "Ultimate additions" are on the second disc. For this Ultimate Package includes "Reallusion FaceFilter3 Standard" "Perfectly Clear" the programs for the design of portraits, for the Smart Photo Fix, and "Creative Collection", which contains a large number of new brushes, textures and backgrounds.
During installation you have the choice between the 32-bit and 64-bit version or you can install both. The 32-bit version of 160 MB and the 64-bit version takes up 200MB of disk space, together there are 360 MB. Unfortunately, the 64-bit version of the scanner with the installed plugins (Canon Pixma scan and HP Scan) does not support, what about the 32-bit version is no problem. The complete installation of both DVDs comes in a little more than 10 minutes on the stage.
When starting the software you will be greeted by a dark gray workspace on the "Manage" button "Customize" and "Edit" are. So you can very easily switch between the photo browser, the intelligent photo correction and processing or retouch. The color of the workspace can be adjusted - I chose the light gray version. A big plus is the support of almost all imaginable formats.
Corel Paint Shop Pro X7 Ultimate is a comprehensive image editing program, the complete opening up opportunities after prolonged use. The operation of the basic functions is almost self-explanatory, and thanks to the many opportunities we see preview exactly what effect the changes. The speed of the program, especially when you apply different filters to large images, but it could be quite a bit faster. I am using a fairly powerful desktop PC with Core i7 2600K CPU, 16GB of RAM, GeForce GTX graphics card and SSD, so poor performance probably would not be the problem. In addition, it comes when importing images via different scanner plugins every now and then crashes.
