I knew, without more, the existence of a battery of big guns templates located in the Aisne in 1918 and nicknamed "The Big Bertha" by the Parisians. This book taught me a lot about their design, technical specifications, and the reaction of the French army and the people of Paris during use. I found it well written - hanging out there a couple of small minor mistakes, proofreading mistakes probably - and above all, as always with this author, incredibly well documented and illustrated. The last part of the heritage of Bertha is in my opinion a bit long and Christophe DutrĂ´ne could possibly have to dispense. However, I highly recommend "Fire in Paris" for history enthusiasts as well as lovers of Paris military history.
