I had informed me before buying over D-Lan and therefore pay attention to two important things. I use the adapter in the same circuit and have it plugged directly into the power socket. The installation is very easy. Modem switch. Beige Blank network cable to the modem install, adapter into the power outlet, cable from the modem to the adapter. Go to another PC, attach beige blank cable to the PC, adapter into the power outlet, cable into the adapter - ready !! I was ready in a minute. No installation CD or complicated configurations are needed. I have no power loss, no fluctuations or connection problems.
Win 7 64 bit home premium. Distance to other PC - one floor, in a straight line about 8 m. Internet connection (Austria) unfortunately only until 7MBit (I reach only very rarely, mostly to 5mbit). As mentioned, at this rate, no loss. I can based on my "slow" connection not tell you how fast the system can be at most. Short for encryption: You can encrypt the signal. I did not do it, because I am alone in the household and has no other access to my circuit.
In any case a recommendation from me. I would buy it again at any time.
