First of all: Before that, I had an old PS3 (firmware version then 2:51), an LG BD570 and a Sony BDP-S470 (Both of latest firmware version on 20.7.2010.
At LG, I even applied the update trick, so it downloads the latest updates)
Play over network:
So the player can be easily integrated into a network.
Unfortunately, he is unable to access a simple file sharing Windows7
[When the LG went)
So set up a DLNA server (Tversity) and transcoding completely off. I finally want to know what the player really can Yes.
I tested .mkvs and .m2ts in VC1 as well as H.264 or x.264
---> The Philips played everything off without any problems :)
[The PS3 bsplw. plays no MKVS from (only ummuxxen in a different container), the LG like eg no VC1 MKVs and Sony liked more or less nothing ...]
Especially nice is the automatic 24/50 Hz recognition.
[This worked at LG not because you had to change every time manually in the menu.
The PS3 plays MKVS (or the umgemuxxten files) anyway only with 60Hz from, because you can choose to do nothing; So you have nasty pulldown judder.]
Philips so I can highly recommend :)
PS: A small drawback perhaps:
Navigating in a network folder with many files is a little cumbersome, you can see the "bottom or top button" does not hold, you have every time it press again, so you can select another file.
But I think to get over :)
