Very good Blu-ray / SACD / DVD / CD player!

by now catchier use of Sony BDP-S490B Blu-ray player, I want to ask you my experiences.

A little info: I have previously called the Sony BDP S360 my own and will deal also every now and then.

Packing:
Simple and perfectly adequate, the device was delivered. The device comes with an HDMI cable, which is now a necessity. You want to be up to date, the HDMI cable should include the Standard 1.4a.
Otherwise, a remote control is in that has decreased compared to the S360 in size. I like very much, only the key layout just what play, pause, etc. are concerned, is a change if you're used to the old remote control. But that settles all the time.

Look and feel:
The unit I like quite well. The rounded on the sides are a matter of taste. Since my Blu-Ray player is separated from the other components, it falls to me not so significant. If you still have other components, the optics could be disturbing.

Why I switched from the S360 to the S490?
Primarily because of the possibility of playing SACDŽs. This was not the S360 unfortunately.

Please note that the multi-channel sound from SACDŽs not every receiver is carried out. The receiver must support at least HDMI 1.2, otherwise a stereo.

Further advantages compared to the S360:
- Network capability
- USB port on the front yet, so sometimes a stick can be operated without much effort.
- The remote control is now the CD / DVD / Blu-ray-charge can be opened and closed.

Commissioning:
Setting up the Blu-ray player works relative of course. I'm technically not necessarily the Upper Light, so I'd like to almost argue that even a layman can make the settings on the player without major problems.

The play:
The player will play the Blu-ray discs with relative ease. So far I have not had a disc that has not been played back without hesitation. I've now tried several formats and still can not identify any outliers.
The problem raised by many people drive noise I can not even notice. Since I run my Blu-ray discs have a 5.1 system with something Wrumms falling in Action titles less important, but in quiet films with quiet passages more. Certainly one concentrates, once you have seen the noise even on this and it can no longer be a going on. This happened to me at that time in the transition from LCD to plasma televisions also. Image Quality:
The picture quality and sound quality I would rate compared to the S360 as identical. I look at a 50-inch plasma and have neither the S360 nor the current S490 complaints. With the quality I am very satisfied, yes what makes the main part of a Blu-Ray player.
The 3D capabilities I've tested with a friend. This has a complete equipment to play 3D movies. He has a Panasonic 3D Blu-Ray player and is compared to the S490 as excited. There was for him no harm or a reduction. Since I can conditionally examine through my eyesight no 3D movies, I had to be carried out by my friend the test.

The network capability can be used either via a LAN cable or via WLAN stick. From Sony there as an example, the product Sony UWA-BR100 USB Wi-Fi adapter. Cheaper versions are also available at Amazon, you should not necessarily want Sony product.

Since it is not possible for me to test any format or every little thing on the Blu-ray player itself, I would like to place in any case, the other reviews on Amazon to the heart. Every group of people has a different usage patterns in terms of a Blu-Ray player in the rule.

Should Blu-ray player any positive (due to updates) arise or adverse effects through the continued use of the S490, I will like to expand my review.

Conclusion:
I am very pleased with the Blu-Ray player. The buzzing in the Blu-ray operation I perceive and it is also, especially in quiet passages, something disturbing. Therefore, I forgive 4.5 stars for a well-equipped Blu-ray player at a very reasonable price. Since half stars are not possible and I can live with the cheeping very well, I round up to 5 stars.
Yet just sensitive people should really test it beforehand.
