According to the author, Big Data has existed under different names. He describes his evolution as and decades. It provides a maximum of examples dentreprises and social groups have already taken advantage of Big Data successfully (eg Netflix or Amazon) and those that can benefit (pharmacy, shops, doctors and health specialists, etc.), including all areas (marketing, sales, technology, finance, etc.).
Even if the author is an expert on Big Data, The approach of the book is somewhat educational. There is too much talk, too many words and repeated in several chapters of examples without an actual deepening. The content distributed over 200 pages written in large letters could fit in a mini 20-page booklet. The artificial inflation is obvious.
"Big Data Strategy" is too general book and generally soft and loud passages despite some interesting, narrative is tasteless and too linear and clumsy plan. We would have appreciated an approach guided type "Mount a Big Data solution from A to Z with Hadoop", with analysis of costs, benefits, dune market research and especially of a deep technical learning.
We learn much by reading the "Big Data" Wikipedia while saving nearly 30. No strategy denounced in this book is a presentation that too on the historic sattarde without entering the action in the background. Avoid.
