... If this album did not exist. "Origin Of Symmetry" - the origin of symmetry. Actually, the title ironic, because on the second album vo Muse is absolutely nothing symmetrical. There is no piece as the other, yet ultimately all fit back together one hundred percent. While the first album 'Showbiz' was rocking a lot, builds Muse in "Origin of Symmetry" rather to the ingenious melodies, the wonderful voice of Matthew Bellamy and unusual guitar sounds. The music of Muse is certainly not easy and not necessarily available immediately. There are few bands that work with screeching guitars, conscious overdriving and the falsetto of the singer. Muse is one of them. And Muse succeeds wonderfully, this combining funky and rocking with the dreamy and melodic. "Origin Of Symmetry" is the best example. The predecessor "Showbiz" is a total of a little less developed and far edgier sounds. The sequel to "Absolution", however, is moving in the other direction - which, unfortunately, something is lost from the unconventional. "Origin Of Symmetry" begins with one of the most beautiful piano intro at all - that of "New Born". Here the band for the first time makes clear what concerns her: a beautiful melody, the so beautiful works by the piano, directly followed by an aggressive guitar part. Both are played by singer Matthew Bellamy himself and these two seemingly irreconcilable feelings find each other. So could be find words to each track - or may not really describe this music is, as so often virtually impossible. Each piece has its own character ultimately. Finally, it is just impossible to describe a person in a few sentences. Notes I would like nevertheless to my highlights of "Origin Of Symmetry": First of all, perhaps the most brilliant track "Citizen Erased". It begins with a high-pitched guitar sound, which is not lacking much to shatter glasses. Nevertheless, a melody can also be seen in this sound. Then begins the actual melody together with the voice of Matthew Bellamy. It follows a quiet passage with the refrain that forms the core of the song and the album for me. This interplay between peaceful and aggressive is more than 7 minutes from each second is beautiful, especially the point at which the guitar completely leaving any convention and just screaming out their feelings. Very nice, I think also "Megalomania", which features powerful organ sounds and again the resounding voice over Bella and Mies' Screenager "- a very quiet yet enthralling piece. Muse is perhaps not for everyone, but reingehört you should already have in order to form an opinion. For me there is only one Rating: All star of this universe.
