I do not remember exactly when it was. Sometime between 2006 and 2008 I came across Unholy. I do not belong to the gothic scene and to me it is, ultimately, not matter what kind of music strikes the Count. I was from the outset enormously enthusiastic about UH and the Count and I have gained the albums within a short time and had a new favorite band found. The music had depth, emotion, passion, strength ... I was proud to have discovered this band for me. Some time later "Born to live" because I did not think anything further. I found and find the song well and thought to myself at the time something like this: "Class, Unheilig finally gets the attention it deserves!". The hype passed the first time to me, since I do not really follow charts and radio. Only at some point it was with the marketing and hype so so exaggerated that it has inevitably noticed the last one that UH exists. It was added for me, a bit annoying that suddenly everyone, but really everyone, Unholy knew and found exciting. I had nothing, how should I say, "own" more. But okay, I thought, as long as the music is good and I like to hear, is all in balance. Große Freiheit I also liked very well, despite all the hype. I would even label it as one of the better albums, even though MMN nothing rankommt celluloid. I had in that era also visited three concerts that have made me, despite the new and altered audience fun. Like many others certainly, I was excited hugely to continuing. Will remain the hype? If he can beat Grosse Freiheit? The album leans back in the old days? The answer is no. I had the plate brought me right on the Release Date and pleased me mad it. As I said, I went without major prejudices ran, have no requirements, what genre he plays and was planning to continue to remain despite this mega hype at UH. However, the city lights I was extremely disappointed. The intro was relatively consistent, making you want more. The second track, Herzwerk, also made another whim and I thought to myself: "Well, the title could also have put it on a previous panel, UH seem well wiedere their old time to be faithful". But I was wrong, then it went downhill for me fairly. A ballad joins to the next, only two more titles still being added, but which seem out of place and forced due to the dominance of ballads. Eisenmann also reminds me of the machine. The album has anyway the problem that are extremely many reps there (Light / City Lights / The City - Days like Gold / Golden Times [Modern Times] - Herzwerk / heartland [The 2nd commandment] - Tierra del Fuego / Feuerengel [puppetry ] / Under Fire [Große Freiheit] - Life is beautiful / a great life - like you were / [So] how we were) In itself, I really have nothing against ballads, I am a great lover ballads and straight were always awesome by UH, titles like Astronaut, My Star, The Story of Us, Be My Light, revenge, Heart of Ice, etc. are for me to now one of the best pieces ever published UH. There was feeling, love, devotion, passion, depth, goose bumps ... these were pieces that have a drawn a shiver down the spine, who have a dream. That is not managed on the new album, I think. The title dabble carelessly to himself in ironed rhythm, nice shortened to 3.5 minutes. I think somehow, everything sounds the same. And this 0-8-15 Popgedudel'm personally tremendously on my nerves. I do not know why, but I was at the hearing - no joke - aggressive and have struggled me extremely, by listening to the part in one piece. That's no joke. It sounds totally interchangeable. The album could have Einsingen any old other singers. This is also proved directly with two duets, representing the draft for me. If you listen to just Naidoo Part and do not know that one is on a UH album, then you could say smooth, this is a new song Naidoo. The music reminds absolutely not at UH, something was a thousand times since and running every day on Viva and on the radio. Had Naidoo sung the whole album, nobody would have said, "Hey, somehow sounds like the now Unholy". But let times phosphorus or celluloid to sing it because you should already notice a difference. The whole album sounds totally interchangeable, anyone could have about it sing this melody, it has nothing own more (the lyrics were already times stronger). I do not want to UH or the people who like the album, pick on here also. As I said, I had actually been looking forward to myself. This is only my personal opinion and which may differ from other opinions. The thing is simple, well-rehearsed music on this album, I do not associate with the name Unholy. That's just more replaceable pop music and I do not want to hear. I can not hear pop music, I listen to bands like Rammstein etc. and Unholy had for me always prima reingepasst in my "dark, melancholy German Rock" corner. Just as UH was to Grosse Freiheit, so I wanted to have. That was my musical taste that was melancholy and depth that I wanted to hear and I have loved. Pop music I want happens to not listen and I do not associate with Unholy. That is the reason why our paths here for the time being separate. I think somehow that the name no longer fits Unholy. Maybe he should just go ahead under the pseudonym "The Count" and can remain Unholy Unholy that was in my eyes a completely distinct period of time and all that came with the hype is somehow something else entirely, an entirely new section, new music, new occurrence ... because I would find a name change quite well, because it can break loose then, as he wants, but he shall not please turn the music direction by 180 ° and release it under the same name as the "dark" stuff. Of course is just my opinion and I ask you to accept this, I accept the other and also not to chop people around who find it good.
